Catching a Glimpse
Investigating the role of the celebratory artist working in the palliative care context.
Once were commissioned to conduct national research and develop a pilot project. The pilot project was based on conversations and social time over a number of weeks at a hospice in Cumbria.
Our approach was informal and flexible. We shared and listened, using creativity to celebrate the identities and experiences of the individuals gathered together. Paper cuts and new poetry created individual, personal, gifts for hospice users and staff. The gifts responded to the joys, concerns and stories they had shared.
